5 nzd New seven wonders of the world - Taj Mahal 10pcs 1/10 oz gold proof
2025 Niue 5 Dollars Gold Coin – New Seven Wonders: Taj Mahal
The Czech Mint presents the sixth issue in its acclaimed series dedicated to the New Seven Wonders of the World an extraordinary tribute to India's Taj Mahal. This release is designed with investors in mind: a full troy ounce of gold, ingeniously divided across ten identical individual coins sealed within a single perforated package. The packaging allows the set to be easily split, enabling you to monetise part of your investment while retaining the rest.
A Monument of Eternal Love
The Taj Mahal was born of grief. When Empress Mumtaz Mahal died in childbirth, her husband, Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan, was inconsolable. For a year, the court renounced music, jewellery, and celebration. The emperor himself remained cloistered in his chambers. In her memory, he summoned master architects and artisans from across the globe from Persia to Venice to create a mausoleum like no other. Twenty thousand workers laboured to raise a seventeen-hectare complex of perfect symmetry, crowned by a seventy three metre marble dome and flanked by four forty metre minarets. The stone shifts in hue with the light: rose at dawn, ivory at noon, bronze at dusk, and blue tinged under moonlight. Inlaid with twenty eight varieties of precious stones, it remains Shah Jahan’s final resting place reunited with his beloved after thirty-five years.
The Coin
The reverse of each coin, designed by Ludmila Kracíková, DiS., presents the breathtaking facade of the Taj Mahal, inscribed with its name in English. The shared obverse unites all seven wonders: Christ the Redeemer, Petra, Chichén Itzá, the Colosseum, the Taj Mahal, Machu Picchu, and the Great Wall of China. As the Czech Mint issues under Niue licence, the obverse also bears Niue’s national emblem and a face value of 5 DOLLARS (NZD).
