Pricing Methodology – How CoinBay Sets Prices
At CoinBay, we believe in transparent and fair pricing. Our prices reflect the global spot market, with a small premium that covers our operational costs and guarantees authenticity.
Step 1: Global Spot Reference
- Gold, Silver, Platinum, Palladium: We source real-time spot prices from the London Bullion Market Association (LBMA) and COMEX futures markets.
- These rates are updated every 5 minutes during market hours.
Step 2: Currency Conversion
- All spot prices are initially in USD. We convert them to AED using live interbank forex rates updated in real time.
- For products displayed in EUR or other currencies, we apply the same conversion methodology.
Step 3: Premium Calculation
The premium (the difference between our selling price and the spot price) covers:
- Refining and minting costs.
- Logistics, storage, and insurance.
- Operational expenses and customer support.
- Guarantee of authenticity (Sigma Metalytics testing, PCGS/NGC certification).
All premiums are clearly shown on each product page — both in absolute AED terms and as a percentage of spot price. This gives you full visibility into what you pay above the live spot rate.
For clients who wish to sell investment coins or bars, CoinBay offers a buy-back service for any precious metal product — regardless of where it was originally purchased. Buy-back pricing is based on the live spot rate less a buy-back spread, which reflects market risk, verification, and logistics. Payment is made via cash or bank transfer. Step 4: VAT and Other Charges
- Investment-grade gold (purity ≥ 99%) is exempt from VAT under UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 8 of 2017.
- Silver and platinum bars are subject to applicable VAT; we display these charges separately on the product page so you know exactly what you pay.
Price Updates
All prices displayed on the site are dynamic and reflect the latest market data. When you place an order, the price is locked for a short period to protect you from sudden market movements.
